The cursor is the indicator on your screen that lets you know where you’re typing or where your mouse is pointing. If the cursor is invisible in Word 2007, don’t fret, this is actually a common problem. Your Drawing Cursor Might Be Enabled

One of the causes may be that your drawing cursor is enabled. A drawing cursor is a different type of cursor that is not designed for making text edits. To disable the drawing cursor, follow these steps:

1. Go into “View”

2. Go into “Toolbars”

3. Go into “Drawing”

Now a drawing toolbar will appear. If a cursor button in this toolbar shows up as clicked, it means that the drawing cursor is enabled in your computer. Click on the button again to disable the drawing cursor.

Wrong Settings in the Control Panel

Configurations in your computer may make the cursor disappear while typing. In order to check whether this is the problem, follow these steps:

1.Go into your computer’s Control Panel.

2.Go into “Mouse” under the Device Manager.

3.Go into “Pointer Options”

4.Check “Hide Pointer While Typing”

If the “Hide Pointer While Typing” box is checked, it means that this is the cause of your problem. Simply uncheck the box to make your cursor appear while you type.

External Problems

Physical settings outside your computer settings may be causing the problem. If you are using a laptop, your mouse pad may be too sensitive and it is registering your unintended movements (brushing against the mouse pad as you type) as actual intended strokes on the mouse pad. Disable the mouse pad to solve this problem.

Trailer Back Up Guide

Backing up a trailer can be one of the most difficult tasks to do if you’ve never had any experience with towing a trailer. While actually going out and trying to back up a trailer is the best way to practice, it may be help to read the following trailer back up guide to give you a basic understanding of how to do it. When you do actually go practice, it may be best to do it alone; having an audience and someone else directing you only confuses the process.

Moving In Reverse

Remember that when you move in reverse, the trailer will move in the opposite direction that you steer your vehicle. If you steer from the bottom of the steering wheel, turning the wheel right will turn the trailer right and vice versa. In order to see where you’re going, you should adjust your sideview mirrors to see your trailer’s tires.

Practice makes perfect

When you go to practice, try to find a good open location without trees or lamp posts, such as an empty parking lot. You’ll first want to practice moving the trailer backwards to the side and then straightening it into a straight line.

Once you can comfortably do that, you should also practice how to turn the trailer around corners. In order to do this, find an open corner and put your trailer right on the side of the corner. Once the trailer starts to arc around the corner, slowly push the steering wheel back to center to straighten out the trailer and the vehicle. Make sure that you watch your vehicle as well so that you don’t hit the corner as you swing around.

Keep in mind that this is just practice! If you need to pull forward again before attempting the curve, just do it and don’t get frustrated. Being by yourself is the easiest way to practice driving the trailer in reverse.

While various methods such as sandblasting and power washing may work, the most thorough and trusted method is through the use of a chemical paint stripper.

What You Will Need:

– Chemical paint stripper

– Protective gear as described on the label of the substance

– Paint brush or air-free paint sprayer

– Scraper or squeegee

– Bucket and mop

Paint Removal From Concrete

1. After donning complete protective gear, apply the paint stripper to the paint using the brush or paint sprayer. Don’t use a roller, as it tends to have more back splatter and can be dangerous.

2. Once the layer wrinkles, it is ready to be removed. Use the scraper or squeegee to remove the stripper. A hose or power washer may be used for this step, but it can make for tougher cleanup in the yard or driveway. Run-off from chemicals can also contaminate local waterways.

3. Some paint may be left over after this step. Re-apply the paint stripper and repeat the process until all paint is removed.

4. After all paint is removed, fill a bucket with fresh water and mop the concrete clean.

Inside Of A Lock Is Sticky

If the inside of a lock is sticky, it is going to give you fits every time you go to use it. Instead of inserting the key and turning it effortlessly, you will find yourself wrestling with it just to unlock a door. You might notice the inside of a lock is sticky if the lock has been subjected to the elements (rain, snow, etc.) over the years or if you have not used it in a while.

Here are some tips for when you encounter a stubborn lock such as this.

Do Not Use General Lubricants

Fixing the problem might seem ultra-simple — just apply general lubricant to the lock in order to loosen it up. This might be a suitable temporary fix, but it will not stand up to the test of time. A lot of lubricants will attract dust and leave a greasy residue inside the lock. Once the dust collects and the residue hardens, the lock is going to be just as, if not more, sticky than in the first place.

Use Powdered Graphite

While the other lubricants will not suffice, powdered graphite is perfect for a job like this. It is available at most hardware stores, and does not leave behind a residue or cause the inside of your lock to collect dust. Once you have purchased the graphite, take the following steps.

1. Open the graphite and apply one or two squirts into the lock. Be careful not to over-apply the graphite.

2. Insert your key into the lock and take it out. Do this several times to help work the graphite in to all areas of the lock.

3. If you think it will help, you can apply the graphite to other areas of the doorknob.

4. Test the lock to make sure it is no longer sticky.

AVG Not Updating

Your system’s firewall may be blocking the updater from downloading the update. To check the firewall: Go to the Start Button -> Control Panel -> Security -> Windows Firewall -> Inbound Rules. Look at the list of inbound rules and find the AVG Installer. If it is listed as blocked, switch to allow.

Household pesticides: If you have found ants, mice, or other unwelcome neighbors in your home, you may be looking for an easy way to get rid of them. Many chemical sprays and other products offer an easy solution, but you should be careful with them. Oftentimes, these household pesticides are also labeled as carcinogens for animals and even humans. Dichlorvos, for example, is found in many household pesticides, and has been known to cause tumors in small rodents during lab studies.

Alkylphenols: These are industrial chemicals you are likely to find in your detergents and hair products. They also act as endocrine disruptors in your body, and have caused problems in the mammary glands of rodents in tests before.

Mercury: Although there has been a recent movement away from mercury, it is still found in trace amounts in some thermometers and other household cleaning products. Mercury is known to disrupt natural cellular processes and has been found in most cancer cells studied by doctors.

Cadmium: This harmful chemical is used in rechargeable batteries. Until recently, it was also used in dyes for metal coatings and plastics. This chemical mimics estrogen and can cause early puberty as well as alterations in mammary glands. As these are two risk factors for breast cancer, cadmium can be quite dangerous in large doses.

Although these and other unsafe chemicals in cleaning products can pose a serious risk to your health, they only do so in large doses. You should try to limit use of products which include these chemicals and search for safer, softer chemicals, but don’t be afraid to use these occasionally. If you have small children or animals in your home, you should always check the ingredients of your cleaning products and insure that they are kept out of reach of your children or pets to avoid accidental consumption.

Otherwise, the combination of unpredictable tree branch behavior and extreme high voltages present too much of a lethal risk to be worth it. Many states also specifically ban trimming trees around a power line without a specific license to do so. Find out the minimum distance from a power line a branch has to be in order for you or an uncertified arborist to trim it.

Some electrical companies will not trim around home service drops, as they are insulated. If you feel like the pressure on your service drop is too great, call the electrical company to disable the electricity to your home temporarily so you can trim around the service drop safely.

1. If your family’s lives are in immediate danger because of a tree branch pressing on power lines, call the electrical company to disable electricity to your home first.

2. Wear protective clothing, such as lineman’s gloves, a non-conductive hardhat, a close-fitting long-sleeved shirt, slip resistant shoes, and non-conductive equipment. Never work with wet or moist equipment, especially in adverse weather.

3. Rope off the surrounding area you’re about to work in to avoid getting bystanders involved, and make sure to cut branches off in a way that allows them to fall away from the power lines. You could also use a pull rope to prevent branches from falling on power lines.
